Psalm 147 Strength Found

This passage if filled with quotable reminder vss;

3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds

And

4 He determines the number of the stars
and calls them each by name.

And

5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.

Verse three makes me think of my youngest daughter today . . . yesterday she was down, just down. Instead of her usual unwavering smile she bore an fixed and visible droop on her face. Today the smile is back, the wound bound.

Verses four and five remind me that the concerns I have about what God is doing in my life and what I am doing in Jesus’ name in the world are ultimately in his hands. He understands and he has the power to do what is right.

Still the passage that I want to reverberate in my spirit, mind and action today is in vss 10 & 11;

I want one day, this day to be about my trust in his love, my hope in his hands rather than my own strength. It is so easy to lean on my strength rather than his. Though he is not impressed by my strength but the firmness of my hope in him. Let these two verses sit in your spirit for a moment and see if they do not direct your thoughts today.

v10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his delight in the legs of a man;

11 the LORD delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.

I want to be your delight O Lord. I will hope in your strong love today . . . no matter what.

Glad to be with You in the word and the world. Art
